Environmental Risk for NaTech
The subject of Natural Hazard Triggered Technological Accidents (NaTech) sits between the natural environment and industrial activities and has the potential to result in severe consequences for both human safety and the environment.
As both the frequency and severity of natural hazards are increasing due to climate change, The COMAH Competent Authority requires that operators of sites which are jointly regulated by the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations 2015, and The Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 (EPR), complete Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) risk assessments by 1 July 2024.
How can we help you?
As a contributor to “CDOIF Guideline – Adapting to climate change”, we are uniquely positioned to help you identify and understand the risks your site faces from extreme weather events and other climate change impacts that could initiate or escalate accidents. Combined with our expertise in risk reduction/improvement measures we can help you mitigate against these risks, thereby ensuring your regulatory compliance against rapidly evolving standards.
