Webinar – Beyond the Storm: Understanding the Risks of NaTech Disasters
Natural Hazards Triggering Technical Disasters (NaTech) are an ever-growing challenge for the high hazard industries, but how do we assess and manage the risk associated with these events?
In January, Aimee Russell, Senior Analyst at RAS Ltd, helped answer this difficult question by sharing her insights in a webinar hosted by the Change Adaptation group of the IMechE Process Industries Division in partnership with Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).
Aimee has combined her background in natural hazards with her ten years working in process safety at RAS, to become an industry leader in the world of NaTech and Climate Change risk assessments.
The webinar summarises a method to perform such assessments developed internally at RAS, which has been applied at facilities across the UK. It also includes real-world examples of NaTech events within industry and the lessons that can be learnt from them.
