As part of the consultation process Carolyn Nicholls has been heavily involved over the past few months in raising awareness of the new Chemical and Downstream Oil Industries Forum (CDOIF) guidance: Understanding Major Hazard Human Harm Risk Assessment (MHHHRA) for COMAH.

During this time, Carolyn has given presentations on the new guidance at the Tank Storage Association (TSA) Conference, IChemE’s Hazards35 Conference and the CATCH Humber Major Hazards Group. In addition, she hosted a myth-busting webinar hosted by the TSA and Chemical Industries Association (CIA). The webinar helped to:

  • Summarise the content of MHHHRA guidance
  • Provide opportunities to ask questions
  • Tackle frequently asked questions and misconceptions
  • Enable and encourage consultation on the new guidance

It is crucial that operators of high-hazard industries, particularly at COMAH sites, engage in the consultation process for this new guidance document, which will shape good practice for risk assessment across our industry!
